2D COMBAT WEATHER SYSTEMS SQUADRON

The 2d Combat Weather Systems Squadron, located at Hurlburt Field, Fla., is Air Force weather's institutionalized means to test and evaluate new and existing capabilities, train Airman on systems prior to deployment and support Air Force Combat Weather Forces by deploying mobile teams to assist with setup, maintenance and theater logistics of tactical weather and communications systems.
The 2d CWSS has 55 manpower authorizations, including three positions at Camp Blanding, Fla. These three positions are active duty training liaisons for the Air National Guard's Weather Readiness Training Center.
The squadron maintains nine different Air Force specialties working in unison to provide deployed weather equipment maintenance in Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom and the Horn of Africa, Just-In-Time-Training for deployers and test & evaluation support for new Air Force weather systems.
