The storm at Thule AB, Greenland in February, 2005 caused massive snow drifts resulting in several doors being blocked. People inside had to dig out of the snow.

The February 2005 storm at Thule AB, Greenland had 190-200 mile per hour winds or higher. Roofs were peeled awat and in one building, something pierced through the wall. The doors are huge industrial garage doors, so the drift pictured here is immense.

During the February 2005 storm, vehicle windows were blown out and many vehicles were filled with snow. The wind also completely packed many engines full of snow.

The 46th Weather Squadron at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla., monitored Hurricane Dennis -- in July 2005 -- from the time it became a hurricane in the Caribbean Sea. Weather forecasters gave period updates to base battle staff members sheltered in the Air Armament Center headquarters building here. With hurricane season right around the corner, from June through November, Eglin held a three-day exercise May 15 through May 17, 2006, called "Hurricane Lisette," to prepare for the next big storm.
